Summary Vereda Guayaquil March progress

Last Friday 18th and Saturday 19th the monthly zoom was held with Fernando in which he commented on the current situation of the two projects being developed by Minexcorp.

As we said in the previous meeting, we will start to see the benefits in April, although they will not be distributed until a month later.

It should be remembered that this project has been built from scratch in a very complex environment due to the terrain and supplies. Today we have managed to build a unique beneficiation plant in the region that is in operation even though we have not yet entered the last part of the circuit (leaching).

Leaching, or solid-liquid extraction, is a unitary operation that consists of the separation of one or more substances (solutes) contained in a solid matrix (carrier phase), usually pulverised, through the use of liquid solvents.

Summary of the meeting

  • In the Vereda Guayaquil project, the loading cableway continues to load 50T per day with one gondola, we can add another one to reach 100T per day. We have determined to change the loading and unloading system to a mixed trolley-gondola system. Detailed engineering is being developed.
  • In terms of civil infrastructure, we have finished the details, but no new major works are planned.
  • The three-phase network has still not arrived due to administrative difficulties, physically the installation is finished. This means more costs but not a delay for the moment.
  • The plant is already working, but in phases (due to the absence of the three-phase network) and with sterile material (0.4gr/T). The last week of March is expected to be the last phase of washing (leaching) and therefore closer to start washing rich material.
  • Currently 50T of material is being milled daily. Once calibration is completed, we will increase to 60T.
  • Heliport: reinforcements have been made to the structure due to a revision of the initial calculations.
  • In the mine, we are mining 30-40 tonnes per day with no significant changes.
  • The hydraulic backfill system is almost complete with one slurry pump still to be delivered.
