National Meeting of Personeros in Vereda Guayaquil

During the month of April, a National Meeting of Personeros was held in the Municipality of Pensilvania, as an initiative of Dr. Fanny Marcela Celis, which was attended by representatives from different municipalities of Caldas and other departments such as Boyacá, Antioquia, Cundinamarca.

The personerías are the control and oversight bodies of the respective territorial entities, which exercise territorial entities, which exercise the function of the Public Prosecutor’s Office and are in charge of the defence, protection and they are responsible for the defence, protection and promotion of human rights in their jurisdiction.

The companies that are part of the Vereda Guayaquil Project joined this event by promoting a visit to the mining project and the village of Pueblo Nuevo.

In order to show them a different image of mining and to show them that in Colombia mining projects can be carried out in a healthy way in harmony with the natural and social environment.

In addition, they were introduced to the tourist attractions of Pueblo Nuevo that are an attraction for visitors, giving them a glimpse of the natural and scenic wealth of the region.

During the first day, a presentation was made by the directors of the infrastructure, mine, laboratory, environmental and social areas, followed by a tour of all the project facilities, ending with the entrance to the Guía Colombia tunnel and resolving all the concerns that arose.

The following day, a tour of tourist sites such as the Pueblo Nuevo Country Hotel, Termales del Espíritu and the waterfall in the Playa Rica area, places that have become tourist attractions for the department of Caldas and Antioquia, took place.

These types of visits are of crucial importance for our territory to share good practices in mining that can be replicated throughout the country and encourage tourism in Pueblo Nuevo, ensuring that it becomes a tourist destination of national importance as an important source of economic dynamism in the region.
